Smith Cooper Events

Dining in Style!

Smith Cooper also hosted a dinner party for over 80 clients and business contacts at Bentons Brasserie on Heathcote Street in Nottingham, to help launch its new early summer menu.

The guests, from a diverse range of businesses in the Nottinghamshire area, got acquainted over an aperitif or two, before being served a three course meal prepared by culinary experts in the restaurant's open plan kitchen.  All who attended agreed it was a very enjoyable evening!

The New English Contemporary Ballet

Smith Cooper teamed up with The Yorkshire Bank and Perkins Restaurant in Nottingham to host a special ballet preview from The New English Contemporary Ballet Company.  Over 100 guests attended the event, which took place in the stunning Carriage Hall in Nottingham, where canapés and drinks were followed by a performance of the national company’s latest production, ‘.com Together’.

The ‘.com Together’ piece, which is choreographed by resident choreographer Jamie Thompson, forms part of the company’s 2009 tour programme and aims to capture the contrast between real life relationships and those created through technology such as online messaging, social networking websites and email.

Some Fine Wine (... and some, well, not so fine!)

Our very generous clients and contacts managed to raise a massive £3,000 for the Derby and District RSPCA at a charity wine tasting evening!  Over 100 people attended the event, which took place at The Gateway Centre at the Derbyshire County Cricket Club in aid of the animal charity.

Guests were treated to tastings of eight different wines (of varying quality!) and cheeses donated by Long Clawson Dairies, before being quizzed on their knowledge of the different wine regions of the world.

Then it was over to John Smedley, managing director of Optus Consulting, who took hold of the gavel for a charity auction.  The generous bidders walked away with a whole host of goodies including rounds of golf at The Belfry and Horsley Lodge and sporting memorabilia from Derby County and Derbyshire County Cricket Club.

A good time was had by all (judging by the headaches the next morning!)
